Our highest priority is creating a welcoming workplace with team members from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

How You'll Make a Difference

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a UAT Manager (User Acceptance Testing Manager). In this role, you will lead our User Acceptance Testing function as a dedicated team, separate from QA. This role ensures that digital products and enhancements meet business requirements and are ready for release from an end-user and stakeholder perspective.

The UAT Manager will act as the bridge between Product, Business, Engineering, and Operations — driving structured, business-led validation before production release. This role reports to the VP, Digital Product.

Key Responsibilities:

UAT Strategy & Governance

  • Establish and own the UAT framework, standards, processes, and best practices
  • Define entry/exit criteria for UAT cycles
  • Build scalable UAT operating models across multiple product lines
  • Ensure traceability between business requirements and UAT test cases
  • Maintain UAT metrics and reporting dashboards

Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage UAT plans, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate UAT cycles across releases and product initiatives
  • Lead defect triage sessions related to UAT findings
  • Ensure proper documentation of defects, risks, and business impact
  • Provide UAT sign-off recommendations to the VP, Digital Product

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Managers, QA, Engineering, and Business SMEs
  • Align UAT scope with business objectives and acceptance criteria
  • Communicate UAT readiness, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Act as the voice of the business during release validation

Team Leadership

  • Hire, develop, and manage a dedicated UAT team
  • Define roles and responsibilities between QA and UAT to avoid overlap
  • Coach business stakeholders on effective UAT participation
  • Promote a culture of accountability and user-focused validation

Environment & Tool Management

  • Ensure UAT environments are properly configured and stable
  • Oversee test data management for business validation
  • Recommend and manage UAT tools and reporting systems

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in UAT, business testing, or product validation
  • 2+ years in a leadership or management role
  • Experience working closely with Digital Product and Engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Proven experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and executive reporting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in digital platforms (web, mobile, e-commerce, SaaS, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar
  • Experience building a UAT function from the ground up
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, or relevant certification

Success Metrics:

  • On-time UAT cycle completion
  • Reduction in post-production defects related to business logic
  • Clear separation and alignment between QA and UAT responsibilities
  • High stakeholder satisfaction with release readiness
  • Strong traceability between requirements and validation outcomes

Why This Role Matters

This role ensures that what we build is not just technically correct — but truly ready for our users and the business. The UAT Manager plays a critical role in protecting customer experience, operational stability, and release confidence.
