The Opportunity
The Treasury Analyst is responsible for managing the company’s daily cash flow, banking relationships, and financial risk activities across a multi-location retail environment. This role ensures optimal liquidity, supports store-level cash operations, and drives efficiency in payment processing, forecasting, and treasury systems. This role will provide in office support for processing of checks and mail received on the Lexington campus.
In this role, you will:
Daily Cash Management Banking & Payments
- Manage relationships with banking partners and service providers.
- Administer online portals.
- Monitor and optimize payment methods (ACH, wires, credit cards, merchant services)
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of all payments.
- Reconciliation & Controls
- Support bank account reconciliations and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Maintain strong internal controls around cash handling and disbursements.
- Assist with audits (internal/external) and ensure compliance with policies.
- Optimize liquidity to ensure adequate funding for operations, payroll, and capital needs.
- Manage intercompany transfers and cash concentration structures.
- Leverage banking platforms.
- Drive automation and process improvements to increase efficiency.
- Partner with IT and accounting on system integrations and enhancements
Cash Management & Forecasting
- Monitor daily cash positions across all bank accounts and retail locations.
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Optimize liquidity to ensure adequate funding for operations, payroll, and capital needs.
- Manage intercompany transfers and cash concentration structures.
- Review open item listing daily and research items for resolution and clearing.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Monitor fraud risks and implement mitigation strategies (ACH filters, positive pay, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with treasury policies and banking regulations.
- Support insurance, merchant services, and cash handling risk initiatives. Support bank account reconciliations and troubleshoot discrepancies.
- Maintain strong internal controls around cash handling and disbursements.
- Assist with audits (internal/external) and ensure compliance with policies.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare cash reports, liquidity metrics, and banking fee analyses.
- Provide insights to leadership on cash trends and opportunities.
- Support budgeting and financial planning processes
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- 2–5+ years of treasury, finance, or cash management experience (retail preferred)
- Strong understanding of banking products, payment systems, and cash forecasting
- Experience with high-volume transactions and multi-location environments
- Intermediate PC skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
- High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced preferred) and treasury/banking platforms
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

The VIP is based upon Valvoline Inc. financial performance and provides a payout opportunity on an annual fiscal year basis (October 1 through September 30) and will be pro-rated from date of hire.
