The Opportunity
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Surveillance and Security Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of surveillance and security hardware/software. This support includes troubleshooting, analysis, testing, and resolving unique and complex software, hardware, and network-related issues while informing the customer of progress and/or incident resolution. This role will assist in creating knowledge articles, SOPs, network diagrams, reporting, end user, and Tier I Support training for the organization’s surveillance and security functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IP networking and digital security technologies, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment, ensuring that our security measures meet the highest standard of safety, efficiency, and loss prevention. Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control systems, and other security hardware and software. This responsibility extends beyond traditional business hours and requires on-call support.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining surveillance cameras, alarm systems, access control systems and other security hardware, software. This responsibility extends beyond traditional business hours and requires on call support.
- Collaboration with Helpdesk and Technology teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware into the overall network.
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation including knowledge articles, installation and support manuals, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Developing and analyzing regular reporting on system performance, incident responses and compliance with security standards.
- Developing and providing training to end-users and internal teams on the proper operation of surveillance and security systems.
- Acting as primary point of contact for external vendor technicians and service providers related to surveillance and security hardware.
- Participating in internal audits and assist in developing contingency and disaster recovery plans.
- Collaborating with the loss prevention team by monitoring, analyzing surveillance and security data to detect suspicious activities, assisting in investigations of potential theft or fraud, and recommending process improvement to reduce shrinkage and safeguard company assets.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline in its sole discretion.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in technical support
- Proficiency in IP networking, CCTV systems, video management software, and digital security technologies
- Ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions under time constraints
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities, including off-hours or on-call availability when necessary
- Ability to analyze surveillance data, recognize patterns indicative of potential security breaches, and support investigative processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, notably Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning, analysis, and formal presentation skills
- Experience with loss prevention practices and investigations preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
