The Opportunity

The Property Accountant is responsible for the accurate accounting and financial reporting of a designated portfolio of properties. This role supports timely month-end close activities, maintains general ledger accuracy, prepares financial statements, and ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policies. The Property Accountant partners closely with Operations, FP&A, and internal stakeholders to support high-quality financial outcomes and continuous improvement.


How You’ll Make an Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and perform fixed asset–related activities including asset creation, additions, disposals, transfers, sales, and retirements within the SAP S/4HANA Fixed Assets module
  • Track and capitalize project costs to fixed asset accounts; partner with the business to complete asset placement and close-out once projects are finalized
  • Prepare, review, and post monthly fixed asset–related journal entries, including depreciation and asset adjustments
  • Reconcile fixed asset balance sheet accounts and investigate variances as part of the month-end close process
  • Prepare fixed asset reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to support financial reporting and audit requirements
  • Maintain and monitor controls, procedures, and documentation related to fixed asset accounting to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company policies
  • Support internal and external audits by providing fixed asset schedules, reports, and supporting documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve fixed asset accounting processes, controls, and system utilization within S/4HANA

What You Will Need:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 2–3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in property, real estate, or multi-location environments
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
  • Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting property or multi-location portfolios
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA or equivalent)
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or operational partnership
