The Opportunity
At Valvoline, it all starts with our people. We are looking for a driven Operations FP&A Senior Analyst to serve as a key strategic partner to our service center operations team. In this role, you will go beyond the numbers to provide the financial insights and analytical rigor needed to drive performance across over 1,000 retail locations. You will work closely with operations and corporate leadership to diagnose business performance, provide strategic recommendations, optimize expenses, and support the long-term growth.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead the development of budgets and rolling forecasts for the operations division.
- Operational Performance Analysis: Analyze complex financial data and KPIs (e.g., car count, ticket average, service categories) to identify high and low-performing areas and recommend corrective actions.
- Strategic Decision Support: Build financial models for proposed investments, new business initiatives, or operational process changes.
- Management Reporting: Prepare and present high-impact monthly and quarterly performance decks for senior leadership, translating complex data into actionable narratives.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to FP&A tools and reporting processes, leveraging automation and BI technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a financial liaison between corporate departments (Accounting, Marketing, Supply Chain) and field operations to ensure data integrity and strategic alignment.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (CPA/CFA) is a plus.
- Experience: 3–5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A or financial analysis, preferably within a multi-unit retail or automotive environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex modeling) and experience with BI tools like Power BI, or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC); SQL knowledge is highly preferred and Python experience is a plus.
- Communication: Proven ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and influence decision-making at multiple levels.
