How You'll Make a Difference

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Network Engineer II (monitoring). In this role, you’ll assist the Network Team, the Valvoline IT team and our managed service provider(s) to engineer, configure and maintain the Valvoline and Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) network. 

  • Engineer, install, configure, support, and maintain network services and equipment including:

Switches, Routers, SD-WAN appliances, Firewalls, etc.

WIFI – WAPs and Controllers

VoIP and IP Cameras

VPN and traffic encryption

Cloud Networking

  • Pointof contact in the region for all network-related services delivered by internal IT teams and 3rd party suppliers. To ensure timely and accurate resolution of incidents, service requests and requests for information on network connectivity issues related to hardware, software and workstation.
  • Provides technical leadership on complex IT infrastructure projects (wireless, direct ship lines and other supply chain projects as requested by the business). Represents Infrastructure Services and champion new capabilities/service introduction.
  • Collaborate with IT counterparts to adapt best practices and fuel a seamless coordination, ensuring globally consistent processes are in place and, where appropriate, deviations to meet regional requirements are properly understood and documented.  
  • Works with IT Vendors to evaluate and implement new technology solutions and maintain existing environments.
  • Conducts site surveys evaluate technical aspects of all phases of project work and make recommendations on deficiencies and improvements.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and parts as well as documentation of vendor related activities. Perform timely monitoring; verifying the integrity and availability of all network systems and processes.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion. 

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of network experience. Experience within a large global organization is preferred
  • Licenses & Certifications: CCNP or equivalent preferred
  • Intermediate experience with global data and voice networks, including LAN, WAN, Wireless, proxy, firewalls, and others as needed
  • Leading infrastructure and/or network projects
  • Intermediate experience with network configuration for service and client operating systems
  • Office 365 tools proficiency
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaborate with IT leadership, team members, third-party vendors, and network carriers
  • Willingness to handle complex challenges
  • This role requires individuals to work within the demands of a global 24x7, high-availability, transaction-oriented network team
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
