The Opportunity
The Manager of GCOC Franchise Operations is responsible for leading and developing a team of Field Operations Specialists (FOS) who support franchise locations in delivering consistent operational performance, brand standards, and guest experience. This role provides strategic oversight of field operations across Canada, ensuring FOSs are effectively supporting franchise locations and executing system priorities. The Manager serves as the primary leader for the FOS team, establishing priorities, coaching team members, and coordinating resources to support franchisee success and operational consistency. In addition to team leadership, the role works directly with franchise owners and operators to review business performance, support operational improvement initiatives, and align franchise operations with broader company objectives.
Preferred locations are Toronto or Calgary Canada.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Field Operations Specialists responsible for supporting franchise locations. Set performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and mentorship, conduct performance reviews, and ensure consistent execution of field responsibilities across the system.
- Develop and oversee franchisee support priorities, ensuring FOSs focus on highest level operational needs, including brand standards, franchisee support, operational improvement, and system initiatives.
- Monitor overall performance across the region, including operational execution, customer experience indicators, and financial performance trends. Identify opportunities for improvement and provide guidance to franchise owners and operators on operational best practices.
- Ensure successful implementation of corporate initiatives, operational programs, and system changes across Canada, including coordinating field execution through the FOS team.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with franchise owners and operators, providing guidance on operational priorities and serving as a key escalation point for operational challenges.
- Oversee the consistent execution of brand standards and operations procedures across franchise locations, ensuring issues are identified, communicated, and resolved
- Identify underperforming franchise locations and implement structured performance improvement plans, ensuring appropriate support and follow-up.
- Support the onboarding, training, and professional development of FOS team to ensure strong operational expertise and consistent field support.
- Partner with internal teams such as marketing, training, operations, and business development to align field activities with organizational priorities
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in multi-unit operations, franchise operations, or retail/QSR/service industry management
- 3-5 years of leadership experience, including supervision of regional, field, or multi-location operational teams
- Experience managing operational performance, brand standards, and customer experience initiatives across multiple stores
- Proven ability to coach and influence business owners, operators, or managers to improve operational & financial performance
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of franchise business models and franchisee relationships
- Experience analyzing operational and financial performance metrics to drive improvement
- Driver's License
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to travel utilizing various forms of transportation, including self-drive
- Must be able to travel to the U.S.
- Travel 75%
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Must have full body mobility and be able to twist, turn, bend at the waist, squat, and go up and down stairs
- Must be able to work for extended periods of time with hands above the head while communicating verbally
- Must be able to use various automotive mechanical tools and a POS computer system
