The Opportunity
At Valvoline Instant Oil Change, all roads lead to opportunity. We believe great journeys begin with great people. That’s why we’re looking for a Communications Intern to join our Corporate Communications team supporting our corporate office and retail service centers.
The Communications internship offers hands-on experience working on communication initiatives for a retail brand, exposure to corporate communications strategy and employee engagement efforts, and mentorship from experienced communications professionals.
This role is a located in Lexington, KY.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Assist in drafting, editing, and posting communications, including newsletters, press releases, emails, intranet content, and LinkedIn.
- Gather content and assist in storytelling to highlight our culture, company events, business updates and employee achievements.
- Help maintain and update internal communications platforms (SharePoint and First Up).
- Help coordinate content calendars and communication campaigns to align with business initiatives.
- Assist in community engagement, finding volunteer opportunities for our local teams to participate in.
- Support the planning and execution of employee events, town halls, and internal campaigns.
- Monitor feedback and engagement metrics to help improve internal communication strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR and Operations
What You’ll Bring
- A senior in college currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with SharePoint or intranet platforms is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Creative thinker with a collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Bonus experience in Canva and video creation.
