The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Sr. Industrial Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and creating engineered labor standards that support the workload of all Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations. In partnership with our operational experience and finance teams, this position will identify opportunities for improvement in the process while ensuring quantifiable measured success as changes are implemented.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Conduct and maintain time studies to ensure the accuracy of recorded tasks and document new or changed processes. Accurately quantify changes and possible costs or savings.
  • Lead Kaizen projects and a team to identify issues and opportunities for process simplification and/or cost savings.
  • Maintain engineered labor standards information. Identify key areas for changes that align with changes to store processes.
  • Partner with teams developing store operating procedures. Support field operations by helping to determine Standard Operating Procedure needs and requirements and how they will be applied at the store level.
  • Work closely with the finance team on changes to store processes to ensure store activities are accurately reflected in engineered labor standards and assist with store planning files.

  • Implementation and support for time and attendance system and optimization scheduler.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • High School diploma (degree preferred, with an emphasis in Engineering, Retail, Business, or Operations)
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (preferred)
  • Certified in the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) system for development of methods and standards
  • Knowledgeable expert on all facets of retail store procedures and routines (oil change service experience preferred)
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
