How You’ll Make an Impact
The Security Technician will be responsible for coordinating the installation of new alarm panels, troubleshooting alarms, and working with vendors to resolve outstanding issues. They will maintain the relationship with our install and maintenance vendors. Security technicians will assist in security alarm reporting, creating knowledge articles for alarm systems, training, and process improvement. In the role, you would be responsible for:
- Maintaining active alarm systems. Acting as the SME regarding alarm troubleshooting. Dispatching and coordinating with vendors to resolve issues. This responsibility expands beyond traditional business hours and will require on-call support.
- Security Alarm Installation - Coordinating the installation of new alarm panels for Valvoline locations.
- Creating/updating knowledge articles, processes, and training. Training broader team on alarm processes, troubleshooting, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Security System Reporting - Creating and distributing security reports.
- Assisting the team with general ECC phone calls when necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years of experience in a command center setting
- Minimum of two years of alarm monitoring and troubleshooting
- Minimum of two years of writing basic processes and procedures
- Expert knowledge in Honeywell Security Systems, Alarmnet 360 interface, Compass 2.0 programming
- Basic knowledge of VIOC networking and hardware
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to gather data and analyze information from a diverse set of sources
- Root cause analysis
- Ability to analyze multiple options and cost implications to make the best decision
- Ability to work across teams to gather all necessary information and explore all possible scenarios while troubleshooting issues
- Ability to manage relationships with multiple vendors in the facilitation of alarm systems
- Ability to create and implement training for team members
- Ability to effectively communicate with other internal teams, account managers, field technicians, and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
