Henley Enterprises, Inc. (and our associated entities) is a privately-owned Franchisee of Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) currently operating over 240 VIOC locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Florida and California. The Company has grown rapidly and is projecting continued growth moving forward.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a salaried, exempt management position reporting directly to the VP, Information Technology & CIO. The position is based out of the Company’s corporate offices in Newton Highlands, MA, and supports a hybrid (combination office and work from home) work arrangement. Starting salary for this position is $140K - $156K per year based on experience.

The I.T. Systems & Projects Manager position has been established based on the organization’s continued growth, the rising complexity of I.T. systems administration and the Company’s increasing demands for technology-based tools, solutions and related support.

  • Manages a team of implementation and support specialists responsible for installing and deploying technical systems, software, hardware, or solutions.
  • Ensures the team is following department policies and procedures.
  • Manages and supports multiple implementation projects. Works closely with VP, IT & CIO to assess requirements, develop scopes and cost estimates, and create project plans and schedules.
  • Ensures that implementations are completed on time, within budget, and meet company and end-user expectations.
  • Responds to and resolves escalated user issues during or after implementations.
  • Troubleshoots and recommends solutions to implementation problems or ongoing system challenges.
  • Manages direct reports in the day-to-day performance of their jobs, ensuring project /department milestones /goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Solicits input from stakeholders, builds consensus, proposes a plan and implements approved system improvement projects.
  • Maintains a customer-focused approach, including pleasant and clear communication skills; both verbal and written.
  • Models the customer service standards of the Company always.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Competencies

  • Project Management – Familiarity with the Agile method; organized, results focused and can successfully manage technical teams
  • Development – very familiar with software development life cycle; familiar with SQL databases and relational database structure; comfortable reading and understanding at least one computer programming language and SQL scripts
  • Networking – familiar with TCP/IP networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Communication – Ability to understand and explain design concepts, issues, and solutions, both technically when talking with implementors as well as functionally when talking with organizational leadership and end users. Clear and comprehensive written communication is essential

  • Implementation experience – demonstrated success with implementing scalable new systemsand introducing processes changes to meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization
  • Trouble-shooter / Problem Solver – detail oriented, inquisitive, creative and resourceful problem solving

  • Organizational skills – effectively handles multiple assignments/projects at the same time

  • Collaborative approach – promotes team building and maintains positive working relationships through effective communication within and across the organization’s departments and company leadership

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in I.T., Systems, Business or other related field, or equivalent
  • 5 years’ experience in related areas as an individual contributor; 2-4 years supervisory experience preferred
  • CISM (Computer Information & Security Manager); has or is willing to acquire certification or equivalent
  • Ongoing continued education required to maintain technical knowledge/skills

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 90% of work in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may incidentally be required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
