What you'll do:
The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations for all company facilities. This role ensures that all building systems, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained, compliant, and in optimal working condition to support a safe and efficient workplace. The Facilities Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance schedules, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the completion of work orders in a timely manner.
Maintenance Coordination:
- Oversee the scheduling and completion of preventive maintenance on equipment, HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing systems, and other building systems.
- Respond to and prioritize maintenance requests and work orders, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to operations.
- Track and document all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repair and maintenance services, including obtaining quotes, managing contracts, and verifying the quality of work.
- Ensure all work performed by third parties meets company standards, safety regulations, and is completed within budget.
Safety and Compliance:
- Maintain and enforce compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
- Keep updated records of inspections, permits, and maintenance logs as required by regulations and company policies.
Inventory and Resource Management:
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability of necessary resources to complete repairs.
- Coordinate purchasing of replacement parts, tools, and materials, while managing costs and staying within budget.
- Oversee maintenance of grounds, landscaping, and parking areas to keep them clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.
Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the operations team and other departments to ensure facility maintenance aligns with company goals and minimizes impact on daily operations.
- Provide regular updates on maintenance activities, ongoing projects, and any identified issues or areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices, implementing upgrades and updates as necessary to maintain efficient operations.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree or technical certification in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role, with a solid understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Knowledge of safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and basic building codes.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and team interactions.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and handle physically demanding tasks.
