How You'll Make a Difference
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Data Security Engineer. We whole-heartedly adopt a ‘never idle' mindset. We also know that outstanding service begins and ends with our employees. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Data Security - Manage and mature our Data Loss Prevention and CASB security program
- Projects - Perform installation and configuration management of internally managed security systems and platforms
- Web Filtering - Manage and mature our SASE solution, document our sanctioned SaaS platforms and report on unsanctioned ones
- Engineering Support - Assist colleagues to provide administrative backup and cross-training
- Knowledge Transfer - Assist and train other Information Security colleagues in the use of new security tools, emerging technologies, best practices, and the resolution of common security engineering issues
- Security Resiliency and Disaster Recovery - Assist in the planning and testing of disaster recovery tests for the Information Security tools
- Vendor Relations - Maintain working relationships with information security vendors and Valvoline IT teams to maintain awareness of emerging tools and technologies to ensure optimal deployments
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Education: A bachelor's degree in information systems, engineering, management, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
- Work Experience:
Minimum 4 years managing data loss prevention tools
Minimum 2 years implementing and maturing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools and programs
Minimum 2 years working with a web filtering or SASE solution
Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing is preferred
Familiarity working with different privacy regulations including PCI DSS, CCPA, and HIPAA required
- Licenses & Certifications: SSCP, CISSP, or CCSP are preferred
- Knowledge of information security principles, including risk assessment and management, threat and vulnerability management, disaster recovery, and data protection.
- Practical experience working with security-related frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, or COBIT.
- Experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining security procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide multiple options for risk mitigation and problem resolution.
- Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
- Continuous self-learning of emerging security technologies, control frameworks, and best practices.
- Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively with a broad range of people and roles, including vendors and IT-business personnel.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
