(and our associated entities) is a privately-owned Franchisee of Valvoline Instant Oil Change (VIOC) currently operating over 250 VIOC locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Florida and California. The Company has grown rapidly and is projecting continued growth moving forward.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Construction Project Manager - West is responsible for managing construction projects within California, handling all phases from pre-construction through completion to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery that meets quality standards. This role requires travel to project sites across California daily, overseeing work to maintain compliance with specifications, safety, and quality standards. Working closely with the Manager, EH&S and Construction – West, the Construction Project Manager supports Henley Pacific LLC’s West Coast expansion and improvements across various locations in California.

This is a full-time, salaried position based out of the Irvine, CA Office, with flexibility for hybrid work (remote, work from home and in-office). The Construction Project Manager - West reports to the Manager, EH&S and Construction--West. Salary range of $90,000 - $105,000 per year based on experience.

  • Support the EH&S and Construction Manager – West in coordinating and managing construction activities.
  • Manage multiple projects, including ground-up construction, remodels, and acquisitions for existing facilities.
  • Ensure all projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and comply with company quality and safety standards.
  • Manage permits, scheduling, and inspections in collaboration with the EH&S and Construction Manager.
  • Track schedules, contractor assignments, and project progress, providing regular updates to manager and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Identify and escalate potential project challenges or delays to the EH&S and Construction Manager for resolution.
  • Collaborate with Operations for final project handover after punch list completion and certificate of occupancy.
  • Engage and coordinate with general contractors, architects, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Process construction-related invoices and maintain accurate project documentation and records.
  • For minor projects, manage contractor coordination, ensuring all work meets quality standards.
  • Conduct quality control checks at each project stage, overseeing the development and resolution of punch lists.
  • Foster a safe working environment at all job sites, promoting accident prevention and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Ensure all contractors adhere to contracted safety requirements and procedures.
  • Responsible for the permitting process and inspections of the removal and installation of above-ground storage tanks, ensuring compliance with all applicable city, county, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform additional construction-related duties as assigned by the EH&S and Construction Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to collaborate with internal and external resources.
  • Skilled in managing relationships with external consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and service providers, ensuring effective collaboration and project alignment.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent document and record-keeping skills; consistently dependable and proactive in ensuring thorough follow-through on tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and online research tools.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma required; college education or relevant certifications in construction preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in construction project management or related roles.
  • Familiarity with construction industry standards, especially as they relate to quick-service facilities, is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Approximately 20% of time spent in climate-controlled settings and 80% on-site in construction environments, exposed to variable weather, noise, and worksite hazards.
  • Daily regional travel throughout California; a valid driver’s license and insurability rating are required.
  • The role requires physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and may involve occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
