The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Bank Reconciliation Specialist. In this role, you will be an integral part of the Valvoline Retail Services treasury operations with duties including oversight of daily bank reconciliation transactions, overseeing and posting high-volume bank transactions, and researching bank statement transaction issues. You will post related accounting entries, follow up on unresolved outstanding open items, and assist and communicate discrepancies with various departments to resolve pending items in a timely manner.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Daily Bank Reconciliation – Support daily bank reconciliation process in North America. This includes monitoring bank transaction activity and ensuring that cash is adequately posted to the correct general ledger account. This includes creating and maintaining bank export profiles for electronic bank statement loads using various financial institution portals and SAP S4 system to ensure all bank statements are uploaded timely and accurately daily. Additional tasks include the following:
    • Configuration of bank reconciliation accounts in SAP

    • Create and maintain general ledger variants for account reviews

    • Oversight for all open items on cash sub-ledger accounts

    • Follow-up on accounting and or business inquiries related to bank transaction issues

  • Cash Management Tasks/Projects – Support the cash management team on various tasks depending on availability, such as Management of the escheat process, reviewing the open item listing daily, and researching items for resolution and clearing.

  • Department Mail -Retrieve mail from the mailroom, log checks received and mail out to appropriate lockboxes, and distribute Treasury mail to other department members.

  • Ad Hoc – Provide a supplemental resource for other Treasury activity.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree is required, preferably with a major in accounting, finance, or economics
  • A minimum of one year of relevant job-related experience in corporate finance, banking, and treasury operations is preferred
  • Intermediate PC skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized with the ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
